RiserTec Launch Website
Following months of research, development and testing, RiserTec proudly announce the launch of this, our new, enhanced website. The website has been designed to enhance the end users experience, educate and inform visitors on RiserTec services and Technology.
Bend Restrictors
RiserTec is an Independent Engineering Design Consultancy based in Aberdeen, UK specialising in Riser and Subsea Engineering for a wide range of International clients.
RiserTec and Polyurethane Products have formed a partnership for the design, manufacture, testing and commercial development of a range of Riser System Ancillary Products. The design and engineering is carried out by RiserTec who operate an ISO 9001 certified design process. The objective of the partnership is to offer the Offshore Industry a fully documented engineering solution manufactured to the highest standard and which has been rigorously tested. All components are designed for an exacting service life but are offered with competitive pricing.
The first of these products is a family of bend restrictors in sizes from 50mm internal diameter up to 160mm internal diameter. Designed for substantial installation or static loading the components have been optimised using a full 3D Finite Element Analysis with inter-element contact and bolt details modelled, as well as the material stress-strain curves.
To assist the design process RiserTec has developed a ‘Restrictor Design Sheet’ which has been benchmarked against the 3 FEA model sizes and shown to produce conservative results – hence virtually any size of restrictor can be quickly and easily sized.
Full scale testing and investigation of the tested restrictors reveals that the design and analysis work has been carried out thoroughly. The restrictors have been subjected to the following tests at a test house facility:
- Maximum Design Load test
- Creep Test at Maximum Design Load
- 100% overload test
