Installation and installability can commonly be overlooked or taken for granted in the design schedule. Good installation design and analysis requires an understanding of the capability of vessels and equipment and the ability to monitor and control the activity. Proposed installation procedures/methods should be robust, practical and safe otherwise it will not be possible to adhere to them in the work environment.

Any delay in the Installation schedule can have very severe vessel utilisation and economic consequences for both the contractor and operator.
