Detailed Structural Analysis

RiserTec's detailed analysis capability relies on a thorough understanding of the applications of CAE to solve design and analysis problems. Familiarity of use of the software and the development of a clear understanding of the design issues leads to solutions which allow measured project decisions.
We believe we are at the fore-front of CAE analysis of flexible pipe systems and also integrating component analysis into global design; we work closely with ABAQUS in the development of our FE analysis capability and are a NAFEMS member.
Where required detailed fracture assessment to PD8010 can be carried out using RT_Fracture; although alternative verification by the use of the British Energy R6 code has also been found to be a very quick and efficient way of implementing a detailed fracture assessment.

RiserTec's detailed engineering projects have provided:
- Potential to extend or confirm the use of existing equipment and facilities by detailed analysis.
- Potential to remove design conservatism by component level engineering.
- Fully exploit the material properties and load paths within the components.
- Ability to benchmark predicted model behaviour against real-life test results prior to field use encourages confidence in the prediction of the reliability of components analysed.
Completed Projects Demonstrating specific skills in this area:
- Umbilical Detailed Fracture Assessment
- Maersk Curlew Detailed Riser Clamping Analysis
- Tampen Hot Tap Tie-In FEED and Verification
- Flexible Assessment for Loss of Bend Stiffener and Point Loading
